This project, delivered as a design and build scheme with Tracey Brothers Ltd. acting as main contractor, comprised two distinct but closely related elements.
The new Siege Museum itself provides a 500m² new-build purpose built four storey steel framed visitors centre housing important historical artifacts detailing how the events of the Siege of Londonderry helped to shape the political landscape of Ireland and Europe.
The project also provided for the refurbishment, restoration and re-ordering of the B1 listed Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall located within the Historic City Conservation Area within the city walls, with particular attention paid to the restoration and repairs to damaged fabric and finishes.
The contemporary Siege Museum is linked at all four levels to the B1 Listed Memorial Hall.
