Albert Fry Associates are pleased to have been appointed Civil and Structural Engineers, as part of Samuel Stevenson & Sons’ integrated design team, for the refurbishment of Larne Fire Station, a £1.25m capital investment, completed in January 2022, to support emergency response capacity in the Larne area.
The project scope included a total refurbishment of the fire station, an extension and the construction of a new bespoke training tower with the intention of significantly improving the welfare facilities for local firefighters and upgrading and modernise the station. In particular, the new training tower will enhance firefighter training in-station for the wide variety of incidents as well as allowing them to better prepare for specific incidents in Larne Port. While still accommodating two fire appliances, the reconfiguration and redesign of the station will better support Larne’s firefighters in the delivery of a modern-day fire and rescue service.
