The Whitehouse, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim (16thC), a scheduled monument, has been rescued from ruinous condition, its remaining walls and floors have been conserved and is now being developed into a visitor attraction featuring a modern interpretive centre with exhibition of historic artefacts.
We worked closely with NIEA, The Whitehouse Trust as client and the team of investigating architects in developing an agreed conservation plan and thereafter undertook close supervision of structural aspects of the conservation works on site.
The modern insertion has been designed to be completely independent of the conserved elements of the monument and its installation can be completely reversed.
